WHO WE ARE

 

Hello and welcome to the one and only Sheffield University Walking Club! We organise and lead walks every Saturday and Sunday between 7 and 13 miles in the Peak District and beyond, taking in the sights of the countryside and making new friends along the way.

 

WHAT WE DO

 

Our walks vary in length and difficulty, from scenic strolls through valleys to mountainous hikes up Kinder and Mam Tor - so everyone can get involved. The club also holds trips throughout the year so that we can see different parts of the countryside. We have recently visited the Kielder national park, York and Carnforth in Lancashire; all of them were great fun! SUWC's adopted charity is Edale Mountain Rescue Team. We raise funds for them throughout the year by hosting night walks, running end-of-term raffles and at our cake and ale socials. We also volunteer at conservation days in the Peak District.
